This deciduous tree moderately grows to 30' tall and wide. It can also be pruned into a privacy hedge or screen. Small, creamy flowers appear in late spring, clustered on the branch tips. Leaves are 2"-3" long, green, glossy and compound. This tree needs well-draining soil and full sun. Once this tree is established, irrigate every 2-3 weeks especially during the summer. Berries are poisonous if ingested. Crushed fruit has been used for soap thus the common name, Soapberry.
