The Chir Pine grows at a moderate to fast rate to 60'-80' tall. It forms a slender pyramid that later develops into a round-topped tree (30'-40' wide) with a symmetrical head. The light green needles are 8"-13" long and are grouped in 3's. Its cones produce edible pine nuts.
