Description

This slow growing tree or shrub, growing 2' per year, reaches 30' tall and 15' wide at maturity. Glossy green, lobed, deciduous leaves turn golden yellow to occasional orange or red in fall. It tolerates dry and alkaline soils; it needs full sun. Irrigate weekly after the tree is established, especially during summer. This tree can form beautiful groves that may cover mountainsides. Flowers are green and inconspicuous. This is a beautiful accent tree with rough gray bark. Moderately allergenic.

Water Saving Tip:

Different areas of your landscape have different water requirements.

Shrubs need much less water than lawns and drip systems should never be scheduled on the same program with lawns.

Establish separate watering schedules for those areas.
