Description

Sempervivum tectorum is a low-growing, evergreen perennial that produces rosettes. The parent rosette "hens" produce smaller rosettes called "chicks" or "chickens". The rosette is about 4" tall but will spread 2" wide. The foliage is red or green or a mixture of both. Flowers do arise from the center of the rosette and are 1' tall. This drought tolerant succulent looks great in rock gardens. It can be grown in full to partial sun but needs well-drained soil.

Water Saving Tip:

Different areas of your landscape have different water requirements.

Shrubs need much less water than lawns and drip systems should never be scheduled on the same program with lawns.

Establish separate watering schedules for those areas.
