Common name:Green Desert Spoon
Botanical name:Dasylirion leiophyllum
This durable accent shrub prefers full sun and tolerates reflected heat. It develops a short, thick trunk while slowly reaching a mature size of 4' tall by 6' wide. Give it room, as the leaf margins are sharp. A greenish-yellow single erect flower stalk reaches 10' tall in the spring. Irrigate every 2-3 weeks after plant is established, especially during the summer.

Solitary succulent forms a tight rosette 2' x 2' resembling a cabbage. Stout grey leaves edged with small teeth, sharp terminal spine. Full sun to part shade. Will offset to form a dense colony. Similar in appearance to Agave parryi. Native to Coahuila, Mexico. -Mountain States Nursery
