Common name:Pfitzer Juniper
Botanical name:Juniperus chinensis 'Pfitzeriana'
This fast-growing juniper reaches a size of 5' x 10'. Featherly bright green foliage is prickly and has a nice fragrance when crushed. Native to China. It is low maintenance and popular in many landscapes. Prune regularly to maintain a dense habit. This shrub may need extra summer water but is quite hardy once it's established.

Maintain a two to four inch layer of mulch on the soil surface to reduce weeds, infiltrate rain water, and reduce compaction.
Different areas of your landscape have different water requirements.
Shrubs need much less water than lawns and drip systems should never be scheduled on the same program with lawns.
Establish separate watering schedules for those areas.
Attract, or buy beneficial insects such as ladybugs and lacewings to control pest outbreaks in your garden.
